In the work the author presents an estimate for the year 2010 of the profit for soy and corn land in Argentina, Brazil and the United States, all countries which together represented 80% of worldwide exports, based on the calculation of the regulatory production conditions of the sector on a global scale.

The results indicate that Argentina presents the lowest costs and the highest profit for each produced ton, whereas, in the case of measurements by hectare, although Argentina mantains the lowest costs, it is in the United States where the highest profit per hectare is generated as a cause of a higher productivity.

In the Argentine case, the soy and corn profit represented an amount which is equivalent to 3,1% of its GDP, a markedly higher participation than in the Brazilian and American cases.
